Free Supportive Guide On Han Solo Star

I received this item today and had a very bad experience with the seller’s customer service. The gun that BuyCostumes is selling is a “Han Solo Blaster” but it is not the one pictured. It has a scope on the top, and different colors in different places. When I called customer service, they told me about the differences in the picture (which I already knew by now since I was holding the blaster in my hand) and said that the differences could be found in the description of the item, which is totally false. When I asked if I could receive the one in picture, I was told that the one I received is the only one they have. Then I WAS HUNG UP ON. I could not believe it. False advertisement and TERRIBLE customer service. If you want your blaster to be the one pictured, do NOT buy from BuyCostumes. Actually, even if you don’t care if your blaster is a little different, I would still recommend NOT buying from BuyCostumes. They are obviously not a company concerned with pleasing their

Once again Crispin delivers a fast paced, fun and informative look at the early years of everyone’s favorite Star Wars scoundrel, Han Solo.

This one picks up several years after The Paradise Snare. Lots has happened to Han between the first book and this one, and lots happens during this book as well!

Without getting into many spoilers (at lest nothing that’s not on the back of the jacket of the book) we see how Han meets Jabba, Chewbacca, Lando, his first flight with a very special ship, how he becomes the reluctant hero YET AGAIN..all great stuff.

In addition, there’s appearances from some ‘old’ faces, both from the original Trilogy of movies as well as the previous book.

Great action, characterization and nods to the Star Wars Universe are all over the place in this book.

Highly recommended to any star wars fan!

This book, though midly entertaining, is not for the old school Star Wars fans that grew up on the original Trilogy. The Han Solo Trilogy lacks the stories of a scoundrel that I expected. This trilogy also has glaring contradictions and plot holes when taken with the movies and other Star Wars books. This book is for the younger Star Wars fan, the generation that believes Greedo shot first.

“The Hutt Gambit” resumes “The Han Solo Trilogy” five years after the initial installment. In the typical Star Wars fashion, scattered encounters with future key characters such as Lando Calrissian and Boba Fett spice up the cast. The author creates a typical Star Wars story by fulfilling George Lucas’s high standards in providing a consistent timeline with pre-existing characters even though the background behind Boba Fett does not match the movie version.

Not only does the novel describe smuggler Han Solo’s brief Imperial Navy career but also covers quite a bit of his former love Bria’s subsequent life after escaping Ylesia. Han begins travelling with Wookiee companion Chewbacca yet only minor details reveal how the Wookiee slave became indebt to the rogue. The two develop a relationship with the up and coming gangster Jabba the Hutt.

Many character interactions at briefings are corny and much of the banter is oriented to entertain young readers. The first half of the book did not contain any serious plot device but progressed to a strong finish.

A comprehensive appendix would have been useful.

    Thank you.

Ann Crispin’s “Han Solo Trilogy” fills out some interesting details of the Star Wars universe. However, it lacks the edge and grittiness of some of the better Star Wars novels (particularly those by Timothy Zahn). Although Han is supposed to be a “scoundrel,” you’d never know it from these books; Crispin goes out of her way to portray him as a nice, sweet guy who might enjoy an afternoon feeding ducks in the park.

“The Hutt Gambit” feels almost like a young-adult novel; the dialogue is bright and cheerful and the characters never seem to be in any serious jeopardy. If you thought Greedo shooting first was an improvement, you’ll probably enjoy this.

I am a huge STAR WARS fan. As such, every so often I am compelled to make a post about my beloved SFF series, or at least use a lengthy comparison for one thing likened to something in the STAR WARS universe. With that, I’m excited to review the first book in the new STAR WARS series.

The Fate of the Jedi series takes place two years after the chaos and destruction caused by Darth Caedus. Chief of State Natasi Daala brings charges against Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker amounting to him failing to recognize one of his Jedi Knights was turning to the Dark Side. If Luke could have prevented the turn, then the Second Galactic Civil War could have been prevented. Within a few days, Luke Skywalker is exiled from the New Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance for ten years, and subsequently the Jedi are each assigned a GA observer to watch and study the Jedi’s actions.

Luke and his son Ben decide to spend their exile studying what caused the rise of Darth Caedus. Their path leads to Dorin, the home world of the Old Republic Jedi Master Plo Koon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Order is forced to cope with the departure of their beloved and famed Grand Master, in addition to those pesky GA observers. The Jedi cannot go anywhere outside the Temple without their observers (unless they’re really sneaky), and this makes their jobs a bit more difficult to accomplish, especially when trying to capture and understand two rogue Jedi.

Like the Legacy of the Force series, the Fate of the Jedi series looks to be filled with STAR WARS philosophy and the delicate relationship between politics and justice. It’s these things that make the Expanded Universe of STAR WARS fun to read and experience. I’ve read many of the EU books, and the philosophy of the Force keeps getting murkier and grey as the years pass. All in all, if you like the STAR WARS universe and you’ve read many of the EU books, then I can easily recommend this book. It was fast-paced and entertaining and a rather quick read. On the other hand, if you’ve not read much (or any) of the EU, then I would not recommend starting with this book.

C’mon…Enough is enough, where are the good writers like Timothy Zahn? The new Star Wars books are far too political to appeal to the audience most likely to read them. They’ve obviously run out of good ideas. The last good Star Wars novels ended with the Yuuhzan Vong. Please stop already.

If you really are a die-hard Star Wars fan, pick it up from your local library, your money can be better spent elsewhere.

No spoilers here. Just wanted to give props to Randomhouse Audio for the all new unabriged audiobooks. Hearing Marc Thompson’s Lando Calrissian is guaranteed to make you grin.

Outcast is the first book in the Fate of the Jedi series, and continues the fine story telling of the Legacy of the Force series. Excellent reading.

Good collection of the original star wars saga. Would have been nice to have a collection which included all six films. They are as good here as they were on the big screen so many years ago.

I love this set!!!! I am not a StarWars fanatic, but I am a fan. My little brother and I watched the first one 6 times and would have gone a hundred more if our parents hadn’t put their foot down. I am that generation. You can’t mess with perfection which is why I wanted this set. I wanted the versions I saw in the theater, before George hacked them up and tried to make them better. You can’t, you shouldn’t!
Would you redo Gone With the Wind? “Frankly my dear, I really give a damn”
Or Casablanca? “Are you ready Ilsa?” “No, I’m not, I’m coming with you!”
    No, you wouldn’t dare!! ;P
Here you get the first 3 movies in all their cinematic glory along with the versions that George messed up. It actually is nice to have both so that you can compare. What you get is basically the first 3 films as they were released individually as limited edition 2 disc sets, but all in one box!!! These are classics and need to be in EVERY video library in America.
Enjoy and may the force be with you!!

The Han Solo blaster is for sure the best blaster pistol ever! It makes sounds from the movies.Just pull the triger, and it will make the sound.I even liked it!

I bought this toy for a Han Solo costume. I bought it under the pretense that it looks EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURE. Well, I was wrong. Star Wars nuts like me know that Han’s blaster changes slightly throughout the movies, and the blaster pictured is NOT the one I got. The one that is pictured is an accurate model of Han’s blaster, which you can only buy online; the one I received was just the regular one that you can buy in stores. Had I known that, I would have just gone to the STORE and not paid shipping. Upon further research, I realized that this particular seller has a bit of a history sending people products that are different from what is pictured. FYI, Rubies, some people buy a gun because you have it pictured as being a particular color, or a particular model. If you cannot deliver what you picture on the site, DON’T SELL IT. Not a total letdown, but I’m giving it a low rating for deceiving me.
