Acquire Art Of Starwars

I bought this gaming system for my son for christmas. At the time is was 2, a very advance 2. I read reviews and people said their 2yr. or 3yr. olds loved their leapfrog so I went on and bought it. At the time I also review different games that he would be able to play at his age. Well time has passed and now my Son is 3. He loves the characters, but has a hard time moving quick enough with buttons to play the games. I think I would have waited until he was turning 4. I knew that the game it came with was VERY ADVANCE. I was fine with that, I gave it to my older nephew.I just really like the design. The gaming system is great, lots of different games that are fun and educational. Plus a great bonus is the limited edition star wars design…

Have you ever wanted to change everything?
I am a 24 year old medical student and after this long journey of studying medicine I sometimes feel that I enjoy a lot of things other than medicine. I even think I would be better off taking these things Art Of Starwars as a career. I am crazy about animation and illustrative art for example. I always dream of becoming a visual storyboard artist in one of the great movies like lord of the rings or starwars and create characters, fantasy landscapes, etc. I am really talented at this by the way. Have you ever had that same feeling? If yes, how did you react? Did you just follow what your instinct tells you to blindly or have you thought about all of the years you ve invested and forgot about your dream?

Do not buy this expansion pack. It is now free for anyone that has Star Wars Galaxies. It was originally released as an expansion, but after a year, they made it available for no charge to anyone who hadn’t bought it yet.

Ok. Everyone here seems bent on destroying the game’s reputation. Well, it’s hard to do so when SOE did that for us. As a player of the original, and the subsequent Combat Upgrade, I have a varied experience. Did I like that there were as many jedi as there were? No. The time frame was wrong for such things. Did I like the original combat system? No, it was a little too confusing. But I enjoyed the game after the CU, and could not be found on the ground for long after the release of Jump to Lightspeed. Why you may ask. Well, to date, the space fighter system built into JTL is the best I’ve ever played. I’ve been playing space fighters for awhile, and trust me, if Lucas Arts were to package the space combat system as a seperate package it’d make a fortune. Unlike everyone else here, I am taking JTL for what it added, not what it didn’t change. And this added perhaps the most fun aspect to the game that I ever played. I still keep my SWG account solely for this part of it. So, all you others who just want to whine how SOE screwed us all by changing the ground combat, remember that we still have the space fights, and they’re great.

SWG is sinking fast. Just stay away and wait for a better game. No, “Empire at War” isn’t any good either.

I would recommend however that you spend your money on a classic like X-Wing VS Tie Fighter for the same (but better) effect. PVP is consensual – so if you’d like you can fly your little Tie Fighter in the middle of a group of X Wings and their lasers won’t hurt you unless you want them to. YOu can get most ships that have been seen in the movies, but as Imperial you’ll want to complete the “Jedi Starfighter” quest which gives you Anakin’s Episode III fighter.

What is fun about that is that it’s the best fighter in the game – so Ship building professions cannot build anything that is nearly as good and thus have become worthless… and with the advent of the NGE pushed into an even more minority status.

This expansion is also currently free with the “Starter Kit” that is also available on Amazon… but it’s not really worth it.

I’d suggest buying some Chuck Norris movies.

Like most of the reviews above, this is a game best suited for a younger crowd. As a gamer myself, I found this game very lacking when it comes to challanges and length. It’s very short, and very easy to pick up.

My 7 year old loves it though. He loves the Star Wars series, especially clone wars since it’s a cartoon so this was a perfect gift for him.

My recommendation: do not buy it if you’re looking for a good engaging game for yourself; do buy it if you’re looking for a fun game to play with your kids.

A lot of people seem to really dislike this game, but I have to admit I had fun with it. A few spots were frustrating due to skewed camera angles, but the game does a pretty good job of helping you out with platform jumping. One particularly maddening part that stands out in my mind is the first instance where you have to jump off the side of a cliff and onto one of those droid speeder bike things. I must have jumped to my death about 50 times before I realized you had to do a double-jump to mount vehicles. This nearly sent my controller whizzing through the air at a very high velocity. I can understand people not liking the simplistic nature of the gameplay, and some aspects of the game do feel like they were rushed through the Q.A. department, but overall I enjoyed it. Anyone expecting an experience like The Force Unleashed will be sorely disappointed.

As a long time Star Wars fan and a fan of the new Clone Wars series, I’ve been looking for a game similar to SW Battlefront for my kids. While not a game that I myself can play for too long, it’s easily a favorite of my sons and they keep it in their regular cycle with their lego, spiderman and ironman games.

The controls were easy for them to adopt, and the penalty for death is similar to lego games: if you’re killed, you just re-spawn. The extra perks like helmet/mask purchasing, droid riding and dancing, and special upgrades are enough to keep them coming back.

…And I’ll admit, seeing notable troopers like Denal and Ponds in action, along with some really cool looking trooper additions, was enough to keep me watching while they played the first few times. A great family game, even if not up to the caliber of more adult-oriented action games

Battlefront II keeps the same basic gameplay as Battlefront I, but makes some new additions: space combat, and jedi. The base game itself is very fun, and takes a lot of playing to wear out, but there are lots of mods for the game out on the web, which add tons of new content. As well, there are mod tools, for all the geeks out there that would like to create their own stuff. The Battlefront formula + easy moddeability makes for an engaging game with battles that are never the same, and hours of fun!

This is a great game. One of the funest I have ever played, a I have played a lot. It is much better than Battlefront One because there are actually objectives on the campaigns instead of just killing very other enemy soldier. Plus the new charaters you can be are great. The Jedi were a great addition and are definatly fun to play as. The graphics are fantastic and pretty smooth, although can get alittle jittery some of the space battles. FIVE STARS all the way around.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of my favorite games. It has many different maps to choose from, and many different character classes. Each different soldier has their own specialized weapons and abilities, making the game more personalized to each player. The graphics are smooth, and a great improvment from Battlefront 1. The campaign is challenging, but not overly hard. (Cheat codes can help if you get stuck.) The online multiplayer raises the value of the game, because it takes playing to a whole new level of action & challenge. Jet packs, rocket launchers, mines, grenades….what more could a action gamer ask for?

I own the PS2 version and I bought this so that I could play SWB2 on the go. I was wrong. The controls sucked; I could never remember the buttons. (Maybe there was a better control scheme option available, but I always use default on EVERYTHING.) There was little over half of the maps that the PS2 version had. I understand that a UMD can only hold so much, but seriously! The SPECIAL MISSIONS exclusively for PSP: easier than pie! I could almost do it blindfolded! These could be taken out and add in some more maps maybe. Space was even more of a hassle; with less buttons than the PS2 controller I could not remember the difference between landing and primary cannons! I simply did not like this game. One more thing: Good luck getting all the medals!

I recommend getting SWB: Renegade Squadron instead. The multiplayer option is awesome!

I’ve played this game for a while now and I really enjoy it. The space battles really are the best of the whole game. Depending on the ship choice you make, you can either go after the enemy fighters or you can destroy the enemy capital ships.

The ground battles are fun as well and you get a wide variety of terrain to fight over, from cities to swamps and everything in between. You have a number of different weapon choices as well, based on the class of fighter you choose.

Additionally, there are bonuses that can be applied to space battles or ground battles.

As for the negatives about this game, I would say that after a while it gets old. You get to play different sides but you’re mostly fighting over the same planets, with the exception of a few.

Everything considered, I still consider this a great game and well worth the money.

Fast shipping. My 11yr. old son loves this game as much as the fist one.

  • Lauber [ 18Aug10]

The controls are a little bit of a hastle at first, but you get used to it after a bit. It’s a good game, dumbed down slightly from the larger consoles to fit on your psp.

If your child loves star wars like one of my sons you will like it. however, my first son has the leapster max & I prefer it. It is so much more durable for little 3 & 4 year old hands. Save $ on the leapster & just buy the staw wars games to go with the regular leapster without the star wars theme on it.

  • Nickson [ 19Aug10]

really liked that the leapster came with two built in games that do a fairly good job of engaging both my 3 and 5 yr olds. the starwars game was very repetative with its graphics and levels, but still packed a good challene for my 5yr old.

  • Gamez [ 19Aug10]

My 3 1/2 y.o. twins love playing their leapsters. I have to help them understand the directions for certain games, but they catch on quickly.
