This Yoda action figure is the least durable and playable Yoda action figure I have seen. Yeah, it’s kind of cool that his head and feet can be pulled on and off. However, it makes for a much less durable toy and one that young children shouldn’t play with. Also, his “cloak” is a plastic piece of garbage compared to the more realistic synthetic clothes that past Yoda action figures have had. Finally, Yoda’s lightsaber doesn’t stay in his hands very well. In REVENGE OF THE SITH, fans were treated to the most personal Yoda we have seen. Unfortunately, the toy manufactures must have not agreed and have produced a Yoda that looks, feels, and plays much older than he should.
In Star Wars, why does the new yoda look more fake than the old yoda?
By new and old, I'm speaking of the older movies (the later yoda Auth Star opisodes), vs. the newer movies (earlier episodes). You'd think Yoda would appear more real in the newest movies, but no. He looks more fake to me. They did a much better job back then than they did today. Anyone agree with me and know why this is?

I personally thought this was a good Yoda figure. This is the FIRING CANNON version, NOT the SPINNING version. The sculpt is detailed and crisp. He also has very good articulation for a small figure of his size. He is wearing pants which allows his legs to bend, unlike many other Yoda figures which are unposeable blocks due to molded skirts. The “Vintage Original Trilogy” version of Yoda is also a pretty good figure with a cloth skirt that allows for leg movement, but this version here comes with additional movement at the ankles, a lightsaber, and a big spring-loaded cannon. The big cape tends to tip the figure backwards a bit, but it is managable and is removable.
A bit about safety: I read some criticism here about parts popping off. This is because the newer figures tend to be made with ball joints. This enables 360 movement and when under stress, parts pop off and can be put back on, as opposed to just breaking apart. Because of the parts issue in combination with Yoda’s tiny overall size, I would suggest that little kids get the more bricklike, unposeable Yodas. With older kids it doesn’t matter as much.
Aside from that, I say this is a great figure with nice accessories, add it to your Jedi collection!
This is my favorite star wars toy and character. He is realy cool he can grab the lightsaber with both of his hands you can take his cloak of and hi comes with a fireing cannon and his more poseble than other starwars figures if you whant a neat star wars toy buy this one
I loved Yoda. I recently purchased this little guy and his foot immediately fell off. My three year old said, “Dad, I can do it”….and he put it back on. This shows how easily the foot pops on and off. As we walked through a dept. store he then mentioned how the head was gone. It had come off as well. The feet and head are on attached via ball and socket. I found the toy dept. and bought a different Yoda. This one is nice for a collection but not durable for play.
Much like others here I was excited for my 5 year old to get his first Yoda figure. Though the sculpt and detail look pretty good, the quality is very lacking. My son has lost both the left foot and head at various times. It seems as though the socket for the ball on the left foot is not deep enough. This causes 2 problems: 1) The left leg ends up being longer than the right and 2) As mentioned earlier, the foot just pops off. I got it for $5 at target so it’s perfect for your collection (I have all of the figures so far) but not for playing.
I love this backpack, but when I took a closer look I found that the straps were simply sewn straight to the fabric with no reinforcing. The backpack is pretty small so you can’t really carry a lot, but if you are manage to find things small and heavy enough you could very well tear the arms off. I nearly did. I created a custom harness (under the clothes) and attached it to the straps near where they connect to the fabric to take the weight and now I can carry just about anything in it (that will fit). If you don’t want to go to all that trouble then just don’t put anything heavy in it. Its still an awesome backpack.
Wherever I go I receive several compliments on my Yoda Back Buddy. Who could question these random appreciative city people? He’s amazing! When I saw him, I liked him better than Chewbacca and R2D2 combined; I had to have him. The way he clings to your back is just adorable. Superb attention to detail! It really looks like Yoda is holding onto my back (or, evidently, to some a really homely child)! It inspires fellow Star Wars fans around you to talk about their favorite parts of the movies and stuff with you. It’s pretty cool.
He’s also pretty durable. I’ve been carrying him for awhile with all of my essential belongings and placing him on the ground whenever I sit down, and he still looks great and not a seam split!
Uh, very educational… extraterrestrial biology?… lol.
I certainly recommend this product.
This backpack has made me into a geek celebrity at my gym Yoda holds my workout towel, water and a change of shirts and shorts. He is also very cute and when I get tired, I look to him to give me a re-charge in The Force. Excellent product.
I bought this backpack for my brother, who’s a big nerd and proud, for a gift. It looks just as lifelike as the pictures, and is pretty comfortable. He absolutely loved it. He recently started biking to work and wears the Yoda backpack while doing so. He’s had kids on the side of the road yell, “That man has YODA on his BACK!” as he rides past, and it made his month.
As far as durability, I don’t think this would serve as a main backpack for carrying heavy books, etc. for very long, but that’s not really the point is it? The back pouch is about the size of a camel-bak or something, i.e. not very large so you can’t carry a lot, but if you only have to carry a few things, it works. The main draw of this is the visual of having Yoda on you back, which this does really well.
A great gift for the frugal and hard to shop for nerds in your life.
My whole family loves this Yoda. We take him on car rides, to Dr appointments, even camping! I found my son answering his questions while he was putting away the dishes.
The entire experience with this toy was very good. It arrived promptly and looked exactly like the online picture. My son enjoys playing with it. This was the my only good experience with Amazon for my holiday ordering this season.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably compared the various Yoda toys on this site trying to decide the best one and which to buy. The answer to both of those points is This Yoda! My sons and I have been watching the new Star Wars films lately (I guess because of the cartoon film “The Clone Wars” which has been recently released), and they both wanted a Yoda toy because, let’s face it, Yoda is the coolest creation ever thought up by Mr. Lucas and team. So, dutiful parent that I am, I logged on to Amazon and shopped around the Yodas. I was very hesistant to buy something called “Super Deformed”, but I’m so glad that I chose this one. The Yoda is much cuter and true to the film version than the other ones (I had seen them at WalMart, but had not seen this one up close until I brought it), is much more cuddly, and is much less expensive than the others. In every way it’s better. It’s as large as the other, more expensive ones, softer, and looks more like Yoda. If you’re thinking about buying a Yoda toy, this is the one to get. I love it so much that I am now buying my third so I can have one for my desk at work.
