OMG! Face02, when I read your review I was so impressed with your sentiments about this album (as they mirrored my own) and impressed as well with your literary style; here is a writer, I thought, somebody who knows what he (or she) is writing about. Yours is one of the best reviews I’ve had the pleasure of reading on this venue. Now back to the album: You’ve already said it best, to suit my taste, and I couldn’t add anything that wouldn’t ruin an already perfect diamond. But I will share this little jewel with readers: I am related to one of the SOLO members, and so I watched these guys up close, from street corners to studio sessions; they were all immensely talented Soul artists, indeed, and this album certainly attests to that. Jam & Lewis are remarkable legendary producers, so the project couldn’t really go wrong. Some of the songs on this album are classics in their own right. And yes, In Bed is to simply to sigh for; one of my favorites, and as a pun on words and honest

Their first album, self-titled, was rich in production, harmonies, etc.–they were the total package. So what the heck happened here? Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis left them so they started to falter and, unfortunately, tried to crossover. There’s a Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony-type ballad called “Luv-All-Day” that features Kieaun Da Golden Child speed-rapping. That song alone is just embarrassing. And they stayed away from such old-soul production from their debut in favor for some more urban, radio-friendly tunes. The ballad that should have been the best song, “Till Death Do Us Part” featuring Brownstone (the best R&B girl and guy groups on the same song) falters because while the ballad-y production works for Brownstone, it sounds too crossover for Solo. They still impress with their acapella interludes and with the songs, “Forgive Me” and the Gerald Levert-penned “Make Me Know It”, but those aren’t enough to save the album.
Without doubt, THE best album I have!
Absolute quailty, felt with the heart.
The lyrics are amazing. An album for all moods.
I’d recommend to anyone.
Just a shame you can’t get hold of it in the UK!
I am a fan of SOLO. I own their first cd (which I thought was great), and I can say the same for this, their second cd.
These brothas can really sing. This by far the best R&B album i own. These four brothers deliver great harmony which is the est around. This album has great dance music, great love songs. Its too bad the group won’t be releasing any more albums. The album was underrated just like the first. More people should have listen to more samples of this album.
I love Solo, have been looking for this cd and finally found it. I’m excited to be reunited with them again. They are REAL singers. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT.
This cd is really nice for romantic evenings and something to help rekindle those flams of passion. All around just a great buy.
Much has been debated about the demise of the band within black music. From the mid-’ 60s to the mid-’80s, packs of self contained singers, rhythm sections and horn players ruled the land.
They were not only able to reproduce records exactly as you heard them on the radio, the amazing showmanship chops, dazzling choreography and charisma.
Though their reputations were rarely staked upon it, most of these bands were well versed in all styles of music.
Beyond R&B, they could usually hold their own in whatever vibe was called for. But as disco morphed into techno and classic soul strains, and records began to be more producer-powered (Jimmy Jam And Terry Lewis Production) than musician-driven, bands slowly faded from the landscape. One band had the fortitude, talent and multiplicity to keep the torch not just lit, but BLAZING. That band is (Solo)…
I Love this guys… Best Grop so far… For Me…………..
I am the manager for the group TWO COLD. They are a jazz group out of Chicago. The unique thing about this, DJ Calvin created a hot remix using the jazz group TWO COLD’s music Last Night and including artists The Temptations, R. Kelly and Solo. The mix is hot and Solo holds their own with these well known vocalists. I think this group was a great mix. I enjoyed Solo and the steppers love it too.

EVerybody should read the Bible and this is an easy-reading version, not translated word-for-word, but catches and holds your interest. I would not recommend this version for theology study; check with KJV for that.
