I have been a huge Elizabeth Lowell fan for years. I have enjoyed learning many different things from her writing; art, gems, Native American culture, you name it. This book centers on boats and yachting, so the traditional learning was there. The other thing her books always have is fantastic romance to go along with the story. In this book, I enjoyed Emma and Mac as the central characters, but there was little romance and far more action. Catherine Coulter and Elizabeth Lowell are both moving away from the romance that has made them some of the top selling authors and that is too bad. I really enjoy the St. Kilda’s series, but maybe it the next book will have more romance to it. I am hoping that Faroe and Grace’s son Lane gets his own story soon…


How did Jesus' death change something?
I was told that Jesus' death happened because He wanted to clean all human sins... but how is one thing connected to the other?? He did an useful thing by teaching people, but how could he do anything good by dying? I only see one useful thing : he died as a martyr and so his echo Death doctrine had a stronger echo and he even gave people a symbol (the cross).Thinking that if you make a sacrifice (let's say a lamb), your sins will dissappear... seems kind of archaic, doesn't it?I saw a movie where a man from Seville saw himself as a sinner, so he prayed everyday and on special ocasions, carried the image of the Virgin together with many people of his church. He even walked with bare feet while hitting his back with a wip... He did all this to purify his sins, but... when he went back home he continued to drink and hit his son and wife... You think his religious behaviour counterbalanced his bad deeds??
